How to Check Your Windows 7 Computer Screen Resolution?

Your screen resolution is the number of pixels horizontally and vertically that your monitor displays. The number is generally expressed as W x H (e.g., 1152 x 768). The more pixels that are displayed, the better your on-screen text and images will look. CRTs of old had low resolution, in the range of 640 x 480, but current digital flat screens feature greater pixel density than ever, and the trend shows no sign of slacking. It can be useful to know what your screen resolution is, below is how to check your Windows 7 computer resolution.

Click the Start button. Click on Control Panel, and under Appearance and Personalization select Adjust screen resolution.

Check to make sure the monitor you want to examine is selected in the drop-down Display list.

Below that, you will see the drop-down Resolution list, with your current setting showing the number of pixels horizontally and vertically.

Note your settings in the drop-down Resolution list, and then click Cancel to leave things as they are.
